Is Starbucks’ New Instant Part of It’s China Strategy?
OK…here’s my thinking:
1) Starbucks has been importing coffee from Yunnan, China. It gets roasted in the states, and then shipped back to China to be brewed as ‘South of the Clouds’ coffee.
2) Chinese coffee has a reputation – a bad one. Considered an inferior product of poor quality, it is used mostly for instant coffee by Nestle and other large companies.
3) Now Starbucks introduces its instant coffee in the US…
4) Avoiding the cost of shipping it back to China, where they only have about 40 stores in Beijing.
Seven Cups of Coffee a Day May Lead to Hallucinations
According to research in the UK, consuming the caffeine in seven cups of instant coffee a day may leave you more likely to see, hear and smell things that aren’t there.
Durham University researchers found in a study of 219 college students published today in Personality and Individual Differences, that people who drink at least 330 milligrams of the stimulant a day were three times as likely to have hallucinations as those who consumed less than 10 milligrams a day.
And I thought it was flashbacks…
